Hailing from Washington D.C., Drop Electric brings a fresh sound to the nostalgic world of modern music. Combining electronic instruments, including synthesizers and samplers, with piano and the often-times bowed electric guitar, Drop Electric creates a hybrid of rock, electronica, world, and hip-hop music with a booming, bass heavy style. This style reflects the eclectic backgrounds of each member, which in turn brings together Eastern and Western cultures over beats that make any crowd move…
What’s the first gig you ever attended?
Michael Jackson in Bucharest. I waited 4 days in line. I was 3 years old. It changed my life.
What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?
We played in a Strip Club in Tuscon. It was a Mother’s day show. Some of the dancers joined us for a sing along of Tupac’s “Dear Mama.” It was an emotional moment for all of us.
What is the best gig you have ever seen?
We saw Rick K and the All Nighters in Hagerstown, Maryland. They may have the best drummer in the world. We hope to play with them one day.
What is the gig you would most like to play?
We would love to play the Taj Mahal, the building, not the casino. It’s such a magical place. If Yanni did it, then we could do it.
What would be the lineup for your dream gig?
Massive Attack, Bad Company with Paul Rogers, UB40, and Kenny Chesney. That would be a sick lineup!
