Ticket Alternative launches it’s newest product: Wristband Tattoos

As unauthorized admission to concerts and events (aka “sneaking in”) continues to hurt an industry already suffering from the economy, Ticket Alternative announced today that it has developed a highly-secure new wristband to finally put a stop to the problem. In a first of it’s kind move, Ticket Alternative venues will begin tattooing wristbands onto customers at various events today.

Concert-goers can no longer carefully remove their admission wristband and pass it off to another person. No person under age will ever be able to obtain someone else’s wristband to buy an alcoholic drink. Company president Iain Bluett expects the move to save the massive worldwide industry about $400 in lost revenue annually.

“The concept is simple. While Tyvek, plastic and cloth wristbands are pretty secure, there’s no removing a tattoo. It’s a lifer. If you’ve got a two-day festival, simply tattoo the attendee on the first day, and have them show the wristband tattoo to get in to the event the next day. Unauthorized transfer to another person is IMPOSSIBLE. It’s brilliant.”

Smaller venues are using the technology too. Instead of the traditional hand-stamp or Sharpie pen, a small two-inch tattoo is quickly etched into the arm of the guest. Now, if they need to pop out for a cigarette or hit the ATM, there’s no question upon return whether they’ve already paid to get in. “Fresh blood should also be a good sign it’s real.” added CEO Jamie Dwyer.

The wristband tattoo kit sells for $49.99 and includes one high-quality tattoo gun, foot control switch, 10 ink colors, disposable gloves and two-page user manual.

Celebrate The Launch of Ticket Alternative’s EARL iPhone App with a Free PBR!

As you have probably heard by now (check out our previous post HERE), we have launched our first iPhone app for Atlanta venue The EARL. The free iPhone app allows people to browse and share shows, buy tickets, get information about the gigs, the venue and more. To celebrate the launch of the app, The EARL and Ticket Alternative have teamed up with Pabst Blue Ribbon to bring a month of free beer to patrons of The EARL.  Each night for the month of April, the first 12 customers who show the iPhone app on their phone to the bartender at The EARL’s back room (also the music room) will get a free 12 oz PBR.

Ticket Alternative releases it’s first iPhone app, and it’s free!

Ticket Alternative has released it’s first custom, branded venue iPhone app for The EARL in Atlanta, GA.

With the free app, The EARL’s customers can browse shows that have just been announced and buy tickets directly from their phone.

Their fans can share events on Twitter, Facebook and by email. There are links to artist websites along with artist bio’s, sound bites, video and more.

The app has all the information about the venue you need including links to connect with the venue and a handy tool that opens in Google maps with directions to help you get to the venue. In addition there’s a link to The EARL’s website and a link to contact them via email.

Ticket Alternative will release iPhone apps for two of it’s other venues, The Rock and Roll Hotel and Black Cat  both in Washington DC, in a few weeks.

Ticket Alternative Launches Southeast and Northeast Facebook Pages!

We’ve been expanding all over the country at a superb rate lately. So to better serve all of you Ticket Alternative fans out there who want to know what events we’re working on in your neck of the woods, we’ve launched two new Facebook pages.

Ticket Alternative has joined an American Express promotion called Root For Our City

Everytime someone purchases a ticket using their American Express card between September 22nd and October 31st, our city, ATLANTA will get a ‘vote’. The city with the most votes at the end of the promotion will get the most trees planted.

8 cities are competing for the largest share of the American Express million dollar tree-planting grant.
