Atlanta’s True Colors Theatre Company Needs Your Help!

Atlanta’s famous True Colors Theatre company, led by Tony-nominated director Kenny Leon, needs some assistance. Here’s a message the theater company is sending out:

True Colors has 9 days left!

If we can raise $50,000 from our patrons by June 30th, our board has committed to raise $100,000 to end our season DEBT FREE!

Please consider making a donation today if you have enjoyed our exceptional theatre in the past, so that True Colors can continue to bring Kenny Leon’s vision to Atlanta.

No amount is too small (or too big).

To make your donation, please contact True Colors at 404.588.0308 or Online HERE.

So far, the non-profit company has raised about $15,000, leaving about $35,000 to go. To do our part, Ticket Alternative is paying all processing fees on your donations, so every penny you donate will go directly to True Colors.

True Colors is a great local theater company that consistently puts out amazing plays with world-class talent. We hope you’ll help them out and aid in continuing a great Atlanta institution.

Ticket Alternative Sponsors Atlanta Foursquare Day

Ticket Alternative Sponsors Atlanta Foursquare Day

We’re happy to be a part of the second annual Atlanta Foursquare Day, happening on Saturday, April 16. We’re joining sponsors like Engauge, Fifth Group Restaurants, Sweetwater Brewery and others in celebrating some great deals and a fabulous party at W Atlanta Downtown.

This year there will be more special deals all day from the likes of Rita’s (free Italian ice), Dancing Goats Coffee Bar (BOGO on all coffee/espresso drinks) and more (check out the full list and details HERE).

There will also be a party held at W Atlanta Downtown on the hotels rooftop bar. There is no need for an invite, folks just have to check-in “2011 Atlanta Foursquare Day Party” venue at the hotel to get entry. Party-goers will be treated to a complimentary “Foursquare Cocktail,” as well as Foursquare buttons, coozies, stickers and, for the first 100 entrants, a free Foursquare T-shirt. The W will also be bringing in bites from their well-known restaurants, and a cash bar will feature drink specials.

Local charities Atlanta Community Food Bank and Atlanta Humane Society are also involved and will be benefiting from this event. Attendees can bring non-perishable food for ACFB, and at check-in there will an opportunity to make a pledge to Atlanta Humane Society. That pledge will be multiplied by the number of check-ins (capped at 250) to give the final pledge. So if a person pledges 10 cents and the number of check-ins is 250, their final pledge would be $25. More information about this event is available HERE.

Todd Snider to Play Benefit for Hope for Henry Foundation at Rock and Roll Hotel, November 13

By Al Kaufman

When Henry Strongin Goldberg was two weeks old, he was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia, a genetic defect that inhibits DNA repair and causes patients to acquire a plethora of potentially fatal diseases. Henry died when he was seven years old, but he crammed a lot of living (and ice cream) into his short years. Although most of his life was lived in a hospital, Henry had an infectious smile and unrelenting spirit that his parents, Laurie Strongin and Allen Goldberg, are honoring by making sure other children who are forced to spend most of their days and nights in hospital rooms get a chance to experience love and happiness. … Continue Reading
