What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve? We Have Some Ideas!

 
Somehow it's that time of year ready, and we're all wondering how we want to ring in 2010. Luckily we have a slew of fantastic events over here at Ticket Alternative, and whether you are an indie rocker or a posh partier, we have something for you.

Rock and Roll Hotel in DC will have DJs galore, including The Dance Party. DJs Nacey & Starks, Beautiful Swimmers DJs, Garutachi Djs Ca$$idy & Austin, Dmerit (DJs Micah Villian & Outputmessage), DJ Jackie O and DJ Keenan – phew! $30 gets your admission and cash bar, the $50 silver level gets you admission and open bar until 1 a.m., and the $80 gold level gets you admission and open bar for the top shelf goods all night long. Also in DC, The Black Cat will be ringing in the New Year with Peaches O'Dell and Her Orchestra, who will be playing their mix of swing, rhumbas and classic hits from the 1930s, '40s and '50s for all your cool cats. They will be joined by a host of DJs as well as lounge act Tony Anthony and his Malvivants

Over in Birmingham, Ala., hometown heroes The Dexateens will bring their garage rock mayhem to The Nick for a night of southern madness. Tickets are on sale at Ticket Alternative.

Fort Wayne, Ind.'s Thirsty Camel will be throwing their own bash, and tickets are available at Ticket Alternative.

Our hometown of Atlanta never disappoints for New Year's Eve parties, and this year is no exception:

Smith's Olde Bar hosts Athens own incredible indie rockers Modern Skirts, who will be joined by Five Eight for an incredible night of music. Get your tickets at Ticket Alternative.

And finally, Sanctuary Nightclub and Lounge will be hosting A New Year's Resolution. Your ticket gets you five hours to take in the top shelf open bar, a champagne toast at midnight, hors d'oeuvres and other delicacies, as well as optional luxury couches and private booths. Smooth. The Dexateens Play The Nick in Birmingham, AL Saturday, October 24

We've reviewed the marvelous Dexateens on this blog before, when they were touring through Washington, D.C. and Atlanta. We called their album, Singlewide, "exactly the album alt-country
needs: equal parts joyful and reflective in the way that only country music can
be, and cool enough to be enjoyed by the indie crowd."
