We Celebrate a Record-Breaking Month with a Happy Hour!

May was a record-breaking, sales goal-crushing month for Ticket Alternative. The ticket printing department had their best month ever, printing more tickets and shipping more wristbands than ever before. On the ticket sales side, we had events as varied as the 2011 Adidas Grand Prix at Icahn Stadium in New York, True Colors Theatre Company’s performance of Fool For Love at the Balzer Theatre at Herren’s, The Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Concerts in the Garden series (featuring Jonny Lang, Indigo Girls, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Los Lobos and Colbie Caillat), and the highly successful Atlanta Food and Wine Festival keeping our noses to the grindstone. In short, it’s a great time to be on Team TA!

What better way to celebrate all this growth and prosperity than a little after work happy hour at Tin Lizzy’s Cantina in Midtown? The answer is, “I don’t know,” so that’s exactly what we did after work on Friday, June 10. After braving Friday evening Midtown traffic, we all gathered on the patio of Tin Lizzy’s, where the June heat, a few industrial sized fans, and some questionable cover versions of “Mr. Jones” and “Closing Time” from the patio’s musician couldn’t stop us from enjoying a little camaraderie with co-workers. This was a chance to hang out with each other outside of the office, something we don’t do nearly often enough. We’re actually pretty fun, when there are no deadlines to meet, or phones to answer. We gorged ourselves on delicious tacos, quesadillas, and Tin Lizzy’s surprisingly delicious chips, while enjoying some beers and margaritas (and a Coke for Jeremy, our office teetotaler).

One of our part-time employees, Taylor Garner, had to stay behind at the office to answer phones, and we took a stolen Facebook photo of him drinking a beer with us, so he could be with us “in spirit.” He very quickly became the most popular person there, and may have had more fun than all of us, as you can see from these pictures. After Jennifer and Jeremy’s unsuccessful attempt to get the cover musician to perform R. Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix),” we were out of there, off to enjoy the rest of our weekends, and think about how we can make June even bigger than May. Crazier things have happened.
