Queens punk rockers, Bayside, have put out five full length albums since forming in 2000. Having amassed a fan base incomparable to others, Bayside keep things fresh. We were joined by bassist, Nick Ghanbarian, before their upcoming show at Black Cat on Saturday. The likelihood of this show selling out is high, so get your tickets in advance.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
The first big concert I ever saw was green day at the Nassau coliseum. As far as a smaller indie punk show my first one of those was seeing Avail in a warehouse on Long Island called the PWAC
What is the best gig that you ever played/performed at?
It’s hard to say, we have played big festivals like Warped tour and Bamboozle an those are great, but smaller shows in clubs always have a special place in our hearts, it’s like home, it’s what we are used to.
What is the best gig you have ever been to?
I saw Bad Religion on their 30 year anniversary tour in Tucson AZ. We had an off day from tour so we went to see the show. Bad Religion has always been my favorite band, I have seen them over 60 times in my life and this was the best time for sure.
Gig you would most like to play?
I’d live to play any of those bigger UK festivals like Glastonbury. When I watch them on TV they always look like so much fun.
What would be the lineup for your dream gig?
I really like the Electric Factory in Philly as a venue, so that would be the venue. Shows are usually the most fun when your friends are there so I’d love to be able to play with bands like New Found Glory, The Swellers, I am the Avalanche and maybe for good measure – The Killers – because I’ve never seen them live.
