18th Annual Southern Brewers Festival Held in Support of Local Non-Profit

By Geena Berardi

Love a nice, cold beer on a hot summer day? Then check out the 18th Annual Southern Brewers Festival on August 25th! The festival will feature over 30 different local and regional brewers with over 70 premium handcrafted ales and lagers for sale throughout the event. There will also be live music performed throughout the day from various bands such as The Black Lillies, Toubab Krewe, Chuck Leavell, Perpetual Groove, and Drive-By Truckers. There are two different ticket options, a general admission ticket as well as a VIP ticket. The general admission ticket includes entrance to the festival, a commemorative 14oz. mug, and one token for the purchase of a beer. The VIP “Party on the Pier” ticket includes all of the above as well as admission to the private pier area for above stage seating and complementary food and beer provided by Big River Grille & Brewing Works. Make sure you remember your valid ID if you want to purchase alcohol because no ID = no beer!

All proceeds from this event will benefit Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block, which is a great organization that uses puppetry as a way to give children the skills to stay safe and healthy as they grow older. The organization has had an outstanding relationship with Big River Grille & Brewing Works over the last six years, for the donations have allowed Chattanooga’s Kids to serve over 312,000 children and adults in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. So come on out and have a fun day while supporting a great cause!
