5GB With 2:54; Playing Rock and Roll Hotel Sunday June 10th

Hipster Blog, Stereogum, named 2:54 a band to watch saying: “This outfit, 2:54, is a pair of British blood sisters with shoegazer and eyeliner smeared all over their music and a terrific EP to their family name. (Thurlow, for the record.) Think about the sonic signifiers of Lush and PJ Harvey bottled inside a band that named itself after a specific moment in a Melvins song (“A History Of Bad Men”) that’s tight with the xx and Warpaint and you’ve rendered a fairly accurate composite sketch. Their EP is called Scarlet, it courses with the pained hormonal lust and vocals of the vaguely post-adolescent kind and savvy fuzz guitars that feel learned from ’90s alt-rock Guitar World tablature (or like they were produced by Alan Moulder, which they were). Get familiar with the video for 2:54′s EP title track; it’s smokey, stylish, and sylvan, pale-skinned and emotionally smoldered — basically it is Twilight in a music video, to the extent something like that could be a compliment.” See them at the Rock and Roll Hotel this Sunday.

What’s the first gig you ever attended?

I think one of my first proper gigs growing up in Bristol was probably Roni Size. There was a big Drum n bass, trip hop scene in Bristol.

What is the best gig that you ever played/performed?

Our first two headline shows were very special for us as a band, it felt like a real moment for us moving forward. But, We’ve played in
some incredible cities/venues, all have had there own special moments for us.

What is the best gig you have ever seen?

One of my favourite gigs was System of a Down at Reading Festival in 2003, it was so loud and powerful, such great guitar sounds.

What is the gig you would most like to play?

We’re just happy being out on the road touring, getting to explore different cities has been an incredible experience. I love festivals, so thats something we’re looking forward to this summer!

What would be the lineup for your dream gig?

Of bands now.. Mastodon, Wild Beasts, Qotsa.. too many to list!
