This past Friday morning, several TA staff members attended the CreativeMornings Atlanta meeting with guest speaker, Andy Levine. CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series for creative types, not necessarily in graphic design or marketing, but those looking to do something innovative and unique in their businesses. Each event is free of charge, and includes a 20 minute talk, plus coffee and pastries! Ticket Alternative was the first sponsor of live music, and local musician Wesley Cook performed a great unplugged set while everyone enjoyed meeting new friends and catching up with old ones. Ticket Alternative also gave away some awesome concert tickets to shows at Center Stage and Peachtree Tavern!

For those of you unfamiliar with Andy Levine, he is the founder of local company Sixthman. Sixthman pioneered the music theme cruise movement and has hosted more than 45 full-ship charters since 2001 with artists like: Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Mayer, Kid Rock, KISS, Barenaked Ladies, Sister Hazel,311, and more. It is clear why Andy was the speaker Friday morning. Sixthman prides itself in creating a unique customer experience and it’s obvious that Andy’s staff loves organizing awesome opportunities for fans and musicians to intermingle for several days.

The theme of the day was “Pray for Rain”. This can be interpreted in many ways, but in the case of Sixthman and many businesses, it means that things may not go as planned and it’s what you do when things deviate from the path that really matters. When things fail to go as planned, this is your opportunity to prove yourself or prove what your company is capable of. This is the time when you can show your customers, your clients, family, or even friends what you’ll do to make it right or perhaps make it even better. And when “stuff” is hitting the fan, this is when you learn. You learn how to adapt, what to do next time, and what not to do in the future.

Sixthman is a cool company for sure, but we can definitely all incorporate their values in striving to create great experiences for our customers, clients, staff, and loved ones.
