Atlanta Botanical Garden Presents Garden Lights, Holiday Nights- November 17 – January 5

By Nick Hardy, Customer Service Representative

We’re gearing up here at TAHQ for one of Atlanta’s newest holiday must-see exhibits. This is the second year that the Atlanta Botanical Garden is hosting Garden Lights, Holiday Nights which features over 1.5 million holiday lights of various sizes and colors that transform the Garden into what they’ve deemed “a twinkling winter wonderland.” We’re really excited to team up with the awesome staff over at the Garden again, as we greatly enjoyed our summer concert series partnership.

I don’t know if you had a chance to visit Garden Lights, Holiday Nights during its inaugural year at the end of 2011, but what was originally a beautiful 30 acre garden by day became an explosion of color that lit up the Atlanta night. As you may have seen from last years pictures, practically every inch of foliage was illuminated in one way or another, but that wasn’t even the most exciting part. The Great Lawn, which is where the summer concerts were held, was decorated with LED lit orbs of all sizes that were synced with holiday themed music. When you get a chance to go this holiday season, you’ve got to stop by the Great Lawn and experience the visual and aural sensation! You’ll be amazed by the way the music really makes the light show come to life. The Glow Bar will host Disco from 8-10pm, while the model train exhibit near the main entrance is great for kids and families! If you’re interested in getting some quality time with Old Saint Nick you’ll have to visit the Garden during the day on November 23-25, or December 1st, 8th or 15th, however Lumina, GLHN’s new character who’s covered head-to-toe in holiday lights, makes her debut this year so keep your eyes peeled for this beauty each night between 5-8pm.

“It’s going to be bigger, brighter and better than ever!” said Mary Pat Matheson, the Garden’s Executive Director.

This is an experience the whole family will enjoy, so give us a call and we’ll set you up with tickets and advice on the best places to park and dine. Tickets for Garden Members are now on sale! Tickets go on sale to the public on November 5th. See you there!
