From shopping at crazy crowded malls to decorating our homes and preparing for visits from our long lost family members, we often get lost in the holiday chaos. This year, take a minute, an evening, or even a weekend to enjoy some of the amazing holiday traditions and activities around town!

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at Atlanta Botanical Garden- November 17th- January 5th:
Atlanta’s favorite holiday tradition returns bigger and brighter! This year there are more lights and new enchanting characters to dazzle your imagination. Sing with holiday carolers, roast s’mores over a fire, and connect with your inner kid at the model trains mountain. Have a cocktail at the Glow Bar or a cozy dinner at MetroFresh in the Garden.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA- November 24th:
This is Mannheim’s 27th year touring for their iconic and beloved Christmas show! See them in the beautiful Fox Theatre.

Theatrical Outfit presents The Gifts of the Magi, on stage at The Balzer Theater at Herren’s in Atlanta, GA- November 29th -December 23rd:
Jim and Della are out of work and penniless during Christmas in New York. To afford presents for each other, both secretly part with their most precious possessions. In O. Henry’s classic holiday story, the two lovers’ gesture of giving creates a warm and intimate Christmas in the cold, unfriendly city. Set to the music of Randy Courts, this charming and transcendent musical will kindle the holiday spirit in the heart of Atlanta.

Christmas at Valley Forge in Phoenixville, PA- Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1st:

The 2012 holiday season is beginning with an evening celebrating the sounds of Christmas. The 8th annual Christmas at Valley Forge will be aglow with decorated Christmas trees and hundreds of luminaries leading the way to the Flower Chapel where the concert will take place.

Winter Wonder Jam featuring Justin Townes Earle w/ special guest John McCauley of Deer Tick at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, GA- Friday, December 1st:
Winter Wonder Jam is a four-week outdoor concert series held Saturday evenings in Atlantic Station’s Central Park. The 2012 Winter Wonder Jam season will run from December 1st through December 22nd, highlighting great national acts and showcasing Atlanta’s emerging musical talent. If you love Memphis-soul then you do not want to miss a live show from Justin Townes Earl.

OPAS Presents A Family Holiday Celebration, Starring Mandy Barnett & Voices of Lee at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton, GA- Friday, December 14th:
This is a show you will not want to miss! Under the direction of Nashville’s very own arranger, composer and conductor, Jim Gray, OPAS will present A Family Holiday Celebration. Starring Mandy Barnett, an extraordinary ballad singer recognized across the world for her rich velvet voice and “Voices of Lee,” a 14-voice a cappella group, finalist on the NBC show “Sing Off.” In addition, you will hear an awesome 10-piece band hand-picked by Jim Gray, especially for this event. This will be a show for all ages, so bring the entire family to this wonderful holiday celebration.

Atlanta Ballet’s NutCracker at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA- December 7th-December 26th:
The holiday season begins with the return of Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker to the Fox Theatre. It is a fun-filled, magical adventure that continues to thrill audiences. Bring the whole family for an enchanting and memorable evening that keeps the spirit of the holiday season alive!

Decatur Holiday Candlelight Tour of Homes at various locations in Decatur, GA- Friday, November 30th – Saturday, December 1st:
This winter, the City of Decatur celebrates the 30th annual Decatur Holiday Candlelight Tour of Homes featuring homes throughout the City of Decatur, and benefits four outstanding local non-profit groups. The theme for this year’s tour is “Celebrating 30 Years of Decatur Living” and highlights homes throughout Decatur ranging from new builds, to Craftsmen renovations, to the beautiful Rosehill mansion. Tour goers can board a complimentary shuttle at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Decatur, hop on and off the throughout the two evenings and take advantage of the dining and shopping opportunities in Decatur as well as tour seven of Decatur’s most beautiful homes. Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st, 5:30-9:30pm

John Berry Christmas Concert at Mill Town Music Hall in Bremen, GA- Saturday, December 1st:
John’s stunning performance of the title track of the 1995 CD O Holy Night is what led to his most enduring legacy. John Berry began doing a Christmas tour in 1996 and this year will mark his 15th consecutive Christmas concert series.

Jeffrey Butzer & T.T. Mahony perform Vince Guaraldi’s ‘A Charlie Brown Christmas’ at The Earl in Atlanta, GA- Friday, December 14th – Saturday, December 15th:
Atlanta multi-instrumental misfits Jeffrey Bützer and T.T. Mahony return for year Five to the EARL stage to present their holiday love-letter to Atlanta: Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas, in its entirety. A now handsomely graying Christmas tradition, the soundtrack and its companion cartoon speak to the quiet longing and beautiful desperation that make themselves felt at the end of the year. Chad Shivers and the Silent Knights will open with another sixties gem: The Ventures Christmas Album. Holiday baked goods, projections and a homely threadbare Christmas tree will warm the EARL into Atlanta’s shared family home for two nights of jazzy revelry. This year, Bützer and Mahony are joined by the redoubtable Robby Handley on bass as well as multiple female singers from notable Atlanta indie rock bands. And a few surprise guests.

Winter Wonder Jam featuring AWOLNATION at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, GA- Saturday, December 15th-
In the heart of Midwtown Atlanta, the central location of Winter Wonder Jam has made the concert series a favorite destination for friends, co-workers, and families alike to gather during the holidays to enjoy an evening of great live entertainment. AAWOLNATION has been selling out shows across the country and have topped the charts with hits like SAIL, Not Your Fault, and Kill Your Heroes!

Enjoy some Christmas classics from a group of talented musicians.

A Soulful Christmas- The Musical Stage Production at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts Center in Decatur, GA- Tuesday, November 27th:

Off Broadway Director/Producer, Stepp Stewart brings his new musical to life November 27th – December 2nd with… A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS. This African American tale is the story of two children who are taken on a musical journey one magical Christmas Eve. Watch as they discover the rich history within the music, dance, and culture. Join them as they go back in time and enjoy all of your favorite Soul Christmas tunes, performed in the style of the artist that made them famous. We promise you will feel like a little kid again when you hear: Santa Claus is coming to town, Go Tell It On The Mountain, Silent Night, and more.
