Preview: The World/Inferno Friendship Society at The EARL Wed, Dec. 19th

By: Shelby Lum

Never heard of Klezmer music?  It may be your time to find out.  Coming to The EARL tomorrow night is The World/ Inferno Friendship Society.  Their long band name isn’t the only thing they have a lot of; The Inferno also has about 30 active band members at a time, although they only have about seven to eight members on stage at a time.  Melding punk, soul, jazz, and klezmer (which is the traditional music played by the Ashkenazic Jews of Eastern Europe…who knew), The Inferno brings together genres.

You can look forward to seeing all the usual instruments such as drums, guitar, bass, etc., but also look for the viola and saxophone which may appear on stage.  The Inferno leaves nothing to be normal on their set.

Their lineup is constantly changing.  They take musicians out, add others.  The only constant has been their lead singer.

Don’t miss the band at The EARL tomorrow night, joined by O’Death and others!
