This morning, Major League Lacrosse and LB3 Lacrosse, along with the Atlanta Sports Council and Kennesaw State University, announced in a press conference that the KSU Stadium will host the Rochester Rattlers home game against the Boston Cannons on Friday, June 7th at 8PM. This will be the first Major League Lacrosse game to be hosted in Georgia and the game will serve as a test, as the league determines expansion. Ticket Alternative will be the ticketing partner for Atlanta’s First MLL game.

David Gross, Commissioner of Professional Lacrosse, was excited to unveil the new plans and seemed thrilled to be working with Marty Elliott, Executive Director/General Manager for KSU Sports and Recreation Park. Gross stated, ” Marty gets it. She understands that events have to work for all parties involved.”

For years, lacrosse has certainly had a place in Atlanta’s college and high school sports, and the addition of a Major League team would positively impact the surrounding cities and the Kennesaw community and University. A variety of events will build awareness and excitement for the professional sport in hopes that the community will rally around and welcome MLL. The Syracuse University Lacrosse team will host a youth camp in Rome, GA, June 2nd-6th, and will include MLL stars like Joel White and John Galloway, both Rattlers players. The Summer Jam tournament, June 7th-9th, will feature a High School All-Star game to be played Saturday night in front of dozens of college coaches and scouts. The All-Star game will showcase players from the AA High School Elite Division.

Kennesaw State Athletics will also kick off the inaugural year of women’s lacrosse on February 10th at Vanderbilt. The first home game will be played at KSU Stadium against Coastal Carolina on March 2nd.

“Lacrosse is an emerging sport in Atlanta and one of our key pillars of future growth,” said Dan Corso, Executive Director of the Atlanta Sports Council. “We plan on fully supporting this game and recruiting future lacrosse events to the region.”

Tickets will be available at mllatl.com via Ticket Alternative on March 1st for the Major League Lacrosse game: Rochester Rattlers v. Boston Cannons on Friday, June 7th at 8PM.
