How long have you worked at Ticket Alternative and what has changed the most since then?
I’ve been here for a little over 9 months and I guess the biggest change has been my role in Ticket Alternative. I guess with more time comes more responsibility, which I kind of love. Keeps things interesting!
What’s one piece of advice that you would give someone on selling tickets to their next event?
Keep your event details and messaging to patrons clear, simple, and concise!
Funniest /oddest thing recently heard in the office?
Oh man, that’s a tough one. It’s non-stop some days, so picking just one is a little hard! Although if you want to SEE the funniest thing in the office visit: fryeface.tumblr.com.
What blog sites do you nerd out on and read daily?
John K Stuff: johnkstuff.blogspot.com – I love classic cartoonage and this guy is a wealth of knowledge.
Elusive Disc: elusivedisc.com – I’m always on the lookout for the next piece of wax.
Macrumors: macrumors.com – I can’t really hide that I’m a Mac enthusiast. I’ve got to be in the know!
You play the drums, name one musician or band that inspires you and why?
If you’re a drummer, you pretty much always have John Bonham on your list, who was the original drummer from Led Zeppelin. He pretty much paved the way and inspired all rock drummers afterwards, which is funny because he grew up learning from all the jazz greats. I think that is what I love the most about him, in that he can have such finesse in some moments and then really tear it up in others. There is always something new I can find in his playing. It’s ridiculous.
What upcoming Ticket Alternative event(s) are you most excited for?
I would really like to see Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood at the Classic Center. I loved “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” back in the day and those two were amongst my faves. I’m also super stoked for Book of Mormon at the Fox Theatre; that is, if I can get tickets!
What are your favorite TV Shows to unwind to?
Right now I love Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad and Walking Dead. You know…really relaxing stuff!
What’s on your current playlist?
My mood is always changing, but I guess right now I’m listening to The 1975, Postal Service, Local Natives, CCR, Ray LaMontagne, Florence + The Machine, Elton John and always the Motown Pandora station. I’m all over the place really. It’s a daily chore picking, but a good one to have.
Favorite Beverage to Drink at Awesome Hour?
Usually an amber lager, but if it has to be liquor I love a good Maker’s and ginger ale.
You’re about to have your first baby, what advice are you definitely going to give your future kid?
-Think before you speak!
-Don’t talk to boys.
-Be patient and work hard for what you want.
-Don’t talk to boys, ever.
-And for the love of god don’t listen to awful music!
