Friday, October 25 – Autre Ne Veut @ The Rock & Roll Hotel

Anxiety is the full-length follow up to Autre Ne Veut’s 2010 self-titled debut, which was for many the definitive post-millennial Failure Pop statement outside of time and style. Autre Ne Veut rivaled other lovelorn “missteps” such as Marvin Gaye’s Here My Dear and Big Star’s Sister Lovers. If you didn’t hear the connection, you weren’t listening closely enough. Be that as it may, ANV brazenly decided to make it easier for people with his post-canonical return. No longer playing the role of pauper or king, Anxiety is simply his high-definition arrival.
Tickets are $14. Doors open at 8:00 pm.

Saturday, October 26 – FIDLAR with The Orwells @ The Rock and Roll Hotel

FIDLAR is Zac Carper, Elvis Kuehn, Brandon Schwartzel, and Max Kuehn. Their first show was on a FMLY bike ride at a skatepark in Culver City. Three years later the band has played with Black Lips, OFF!, Japanther and toured with The Hives. They’ve released two EP’s and just got back from touring Europe. Listening to them, you can tell that the band did their homework on punk rock and seem dead set on inflicting lessons on anyone willing to listen. They can just as easily be compared to any of the bands they cover (Blink 182, FEAR, CCR, Warron Zevon), yet it all comes across entirely their own: Surfier, Faster, more fuzzed out, more personal and a lot more drunk. You can read our interview with supporting act, The Orwells, here!
Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 the day of the event.

Sunday, October 27 – Gary Numan @ Black Cat

In recent years Gary Numan has been quoted as an influence by everyone from Lady Gaga to Kanye West and RZA; Matthew Dear to Queens Of The Stone Age, The Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails; Prince to Boyz Noise, Richie Hawtin and Battles. But while Numan’s unique, pioneering style continues to connect with fans from the worlds of Metal, Hip Hop, EDM, Industrial and Indie-rock, he remains as focussed as ever in pursuing his own singular vision. Perhaps it’s the voice – one of the most distinctive in rock music. It’s often associated with machinery and icy alienation, but for those who are drawn to his music, there are strong emotions within the electronic noise.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of show. Online and phone sales close at 6pm day of show.
