Ellis Paul is one of the leading voices in American songwriting and one of the top songwriters to emerge out of the fertile Boston folk scene. Though he remains among the most pop-friendly of today’s singer-songwriters, he has bridged the gulf between the modern folk sound and the populist traditions of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger more successfully than perhaps any of his songwriting peers.

Friday, November 29 – The Mad Violinist & the Symphony Crack Orchestra @ Vinyl
Trained from an early age in strings and percussion and having a mastery of music theory, Ashanti Floyd is considered a “melodic, rhythmic genius”. While being a five time Grammy nominated violinist, composer, producer & multi-instrumentalist of 30 instruments, Ashanti is also part time violinist for double platinum recording artist Lupe Fiasco.

Considered a ‘songwriter’s songwriter’, his songs have been covered by artists such as K.D. lang and many others. In addition to his writing prowess, his skills as a performer and storyteller are unmatched.
Saturday, November 30 – Last Waltz Ensemble w/ The Pergantis Trio and the Longshot Saints @ Smith’s Olde Bar
The Last Waltz Ensemble is a musical group that progressively plays the music of Bob Dylan and The Band. The group bolsters a play list of over seventy Bob Dylan, The Band, and related tunes, covering music from all eras of the artists’ careers.

Kristian Bush is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist who started his career with folk rock duo Billy Pilgrim in the early ’90s. He and partner Andrew Hyra released a much-lauded pair of albums for Atlantic Records, earning multiple Top 5 singles on the AAA charts, rotation on VH1, and a reputation as dynamic live performers.
