This week we bring you a very Christmas edition of TA Live Weekend Picks! Reminisce on the good ol’ days with a live rendition of Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas, or shake your groove thing at a 70’s inspired Christmas party. Whether you decide to be naughty or nice is up to you!
December 20 and December 21 – A Charlie Brown Christmas @ The Earl
In its 6th year returning to The EARL, for two nights on December 20th and 21st, Jeffrey Bützer and T.T. Mahony with Robby Handley will perform Guaraldi’s score to A Charlie Brown Christmas with a spirit only fitting of Charlie Brown himself. Opening the show will be The Small Reactions’ Rock ‘N’ Roll Christmas Extravaganza and Jeffrey Bützer & The Bicycle Eaters.
Friday, December 20 – Dax Riggs with special guests @ 529
Ex-deadboy and the Elephantmen and ex-Acid Bath’s Dax Riggs released his sophomore solo album Say Goodnight To The World on August 3rd, 2010, on Fat Possum Records. Come watch the Louisiana raised musician play all of your favorites at 529.
Friday, December 20 – Eddie’s Attic Christmas Special @ Eddie’s Attic
Musicians Ryan Horne, Micah Dalton, Nathan Angelo, and Jonathan Rich will be performing two holiday themed shows at Eddie’s Attic. Come out and enjoy the tunes while you get into the holiday spirit!
Friday, December 20 – Almost Queen @ The State Theatre
Almost Queen performs with an energy so authentic that it’s often easy to forget you’re watching a tribute band. They have sold out shows from New York to San Diego and everywhere in between. This is certainly a testament to their talent and stage presence. The spirit lives on in Almost Queen as they are the champions that will fight until the end.
Saturday, December 21 – Winter Soulstice @ The State Theatre
Formerly called Santa Jam, the annual State Theatre Winter SOULstice Benefit Concert and Toy Drive returns! The Right On Band will be playing an all 70’s tribute show, and proceeds benefit The Children’s National Hospital.
