Eliot Bronson is the type of songwriter who could squeeze out something meaningful about taking out the trash. Up north, he was dubbed a “folk-singing wunderkind.” Bronson released his first solo record, Blackbirds, to wide critical acclaim and just released his second CD, Milwaukee, with backing band Yonder Orphans. Cate Le Bon hails from Carmarthenshire, rural West Wales and is currently a resident of Highland Park, Los Angeles, having relocated to record her new album. She wrote most of the album in her Welsh homeland but we’re happy to give it a listen on this side of the pond.

DeMent is releasing her latest album Sing The Delta on her own label, Flariella Records. It was recorded in Nashville with a supporting cast that included Bryan Owings on drums, Dave Jacques on bass, Al Perkins on pedal steel and Reese Wynans on organ, as well as horn players Jim Hoke and Steve Herman on a couple of numbers. And what spectacular numbers they are!
