TALive Weekend Picks 8/8-8/10: Peter Murphy, Atlanta Silverbacks, MN United, and more!

Happy Friday and happy (almost) weekend! There’s plenty of super fun stuff to do this weekend, so plan your weekend wisely!

Friday, August 8th

2U and Almost Journey
Where: The State Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia

There’s definitely something to be said about tribute bands; to love a band’s entire discography so much that it becomes the basis of forming your own outfit. This is true of almost any cover band and it’s certainly no less true for 2U and Almost Journey.  The band members of both groups are the same, but the style and glamour they bring to the originals couldn’t be more unique. Both bands display an obvious dedication and devotion to the bands they cover and it’s clear that they don’t intend to stop believin’ in what they do.

Saturday, August 9th

Peter Murphy
Where: The State Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia

He’s been called the Godfather of Goth and rightfully so. Peter Murphy is best known for his storied work as frontman and vocalist for legendary Goth rock band Bauhaus. These days he acts as a solo musician and painter, still a force no less powerful. Peter Murphy’s unparalleled cellar-door voice has permeated and inspired generations of music, fashion, and lifestyles, and in the countless culture wars over the last three and a half decades, he sits on the dark throne. Artists and fans continue to inherit, reinterpret, and entrust his influence.
