Fall Favorites: Capturing the Spirit of Oakland

Historic Oakland Cemetery receives many visitors each day, but only at Halloween do the gates stay open after dark. Witness the magnificent final resting place of Atlanta’s sons and daughters as they tell their stores during the Capturing the Spirit of Oakland 2014 Halloween Tours. Not only will you get to experience Oakland after dark, but you are able to walk amidst the Cemetery’s beautifully lit gardens while being escorted by a costumed docent. All of your senses will be engaged as you experience first-hand re-enactments that are narrated by a group of Oakland’s eternal “residents” who bring the city’s past to life. This one-of-a-kind annual tradition is truly inspiring thanks to the cemetery’s nighttime views.
