The 2nd annual Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival will be taking place October 25-26 – this weekend! 88-acre Kennesaw State University Sports + Entertainment Park is hosting the event that attracted over 25,000 attendees at the 1-day event last year. As if being Atlanta’s only hot air balloon event and Atlanta’s largest costume party isn’t enough, this year the festival is increasing the number of balloons, attractions and is making the event a 2-day affair! Over 50,000 people are expected at Owl-O-Ween – make sure you are one of them!
Hot air balloon rides, live entertainment stages, stilt walkers, fire breathers, ice sculptors, belly dancers, sword swallowers, roving buskers, art vendors, a children’s area, craft beer gardens, sports bars, and an Oktoberfest inspired food court with German-influenced entertainment will all be included in this year’s Owl-O-Ween. There will also be more than 60 sponsors/vendors and 25 artisans on location both days. Finally, hot air balloon glows will be occurring each night of the event at the 8,300-seat stadium.
Owl-O-Ween is encouraging costumes as well! There will be a hot air balloon trick-or-treating experience where attendees can collect candy as they go from balloon to balloon. Cobb Travel and Tourism will be hosting the Costume Showdown once again, which will run through multiple social media outlet and give participants the opportunity to campaign to gain votes through Facebook and Twitter. In addition, the contest will feature celebrity judges and prizes ranging from cash to hotel packages.
