New Year’s Resolutions for Event Planners

2011-year-resolution-400x400

The upcoming year has unlimited potential to be the best one yet; filled with good times and great memories at some awesome events – especially if you are the person planning them! With 2015 fast approaching, it’s time to start considering New Year’s Resolutions. We have some ideas of resolutions to consider, especially if you’re an event planner.

2015 Resolutions

  • Stay Organized

Organization is key to running an event smoothly. Keep a list of objectives or goals for yourself while you’re planning and maintain a (tentative) schedule to meet them. Build your budget first and do everything you can to stick to it. The more organized the planning process it, the less stress you’ll have day of!

  • Stay Connected

It’s 2015! We live in the tech age, where everyone is connected online via social media and the Internet in general. Keep this in mind as you plan events, utilizing all of the (cheap or free) methods of communication at your disposal.

  • Keep Learning

Do your research and if someone has thrown an event similar to your own, learn from them. See what you can improve on or how they made a process smoother. Look at your own past work and see how you can improve. Don’t limited your abilities, just seek out the knowledge and skills to accomplish whatever you want. Never stop asking questions or wondering!

  • Embrace Technology

Just like maintaining connections, technology can provide so many benefits in the event planning process. Using online schedulers and ticket selling services, like Freshtix, can help you manage attendees and revenue without the headache. Use other technologies like mobile ticketing to make events run even smoother.

  • Stay Calm

Even if you make all these resolutions and stick to them, the universe has a way of throwing curve balls. Don’t let that phase you! Just stay calm, remember to breathe and know you can solve any problem that might arise. And of course, don’t forget to enjoy your event.
